Removing Oil Contamination From Cooling System

1. Drain coolant.
2. Cause of leak rectified.
3. Set heating system or A/C to "warm".
4. Fill cooling and heating system with 3% solution of water and alkaline cleaner.
5. Warm engine up to normal operating temperature with flushing solution.

8. Flush heating system heat exchanger thoroughly at reduced water pressure through the feed pipe.

NOTE: Clear flushing is successful if no further solution residues are contained in the cooling and heating system, in other words the flushing water which flows out must no longer foam up.

10. Replace overflow reservoir (with oil residues).
11. Replace expansion reservoir, if discolored by oil on inside.
12. Examine coolant and heating hoses. Examine for effects of oil; replace if necessary.
