Vacuum System

Vacuum system for automatic air conditioning (AAC)

With automatic air conditioning, all of the vacuum elements (37-49), which serve for air distribution), are controlled by the vacuum system.

Vacuum is present at the valve block (Y11) from the vacuum supply reservoir (30) and vacuum valve block (36). The valve block (Y11) allows the vacuum to pass to the control for the individual flaps (37-49) depending on the setting on the pushbutton control module.

Rear air conditioning vacuum system (if equipped)

The vacuum valve block (36) is supplied with vacuum from the vacuum supply reservoir (1). The vacuum valve block (36) transfers the vacuum on to the vacuum valve for the rear tunnel flap (Y67/1). This valve is activated by the rear air conditioning pushbutton control module when the rear air conditioning is switched on and off.

When the rear air conditioning is switched on, the flaps for the rear footwell on the automatic A/C housing are closed by the vacuum valve for the rear tunnel flap (Y67/1) and the vacuum elements for the left and right rear footwell flaps (51 and 50). The automatic air conditioning cools only the front footwell and the rear air conditioning takes over the cooling of the rear footwell.
