Outside Temperature Display: Description and Operation
The current ambient temperature is always displayed when the ignition is switched on or off and at an engine temperature < 60 °C.
When the ignition is switched off and the engine temperature is > 60 °C the temperature measured last is stored and displayed.
When the ignition is switched on and engine temperature is > 60 °C the stored temperature is displayed.
If the ambient temperature decreases below the stored value, the current temperature is again displayed.
If the temperature increases above the stored value, the current temperature is displayed only under the following conditions:
- When vehicle has been standing still 6 times as long as the engine ran previously: e.g. if the engine ran for 5 minutes the current temperature is displayed only after a delay of 30 minutes. However, the maximum delay is one hour.
- At speeds between approx. 20 - 45 km/h after approx. 3 minutes.
- At speeds higher than approx. 45 km/h after approx. 1.5 minutes.
