Remove/Install Front Fenders

Preliminary jobs:
Covering on pillar removed. Service and Repair
Covering on doors and front fenders removed.
Turn Signal lights removed.





Bumper mount on side (7)
screw out bottom screw (item 2).

Partition (2)
remove.

Screw (28) on headlight molding (27)
screw out (item 5).

Screws (8)
screw out (items 3-6).

Rubber seal (26) on front fender
remove (item 6).

Front fender (1)
remove, for this purpose pull headlight molding (27) forward slightly.

New fender (1)
apply MB permanent underfloor protection agent and preserve with hollow cavity wax after installation (items 8 - 10).

Installation
install in reverse order; observe correct installation position for rubber seal on inner fender.

Front lights
adjust.


Removal
1 Remove partition between wheel house and frame cross member at front.






2 Screw out bottom screw (arrow) for side fender mount (7).






3 Screw out screws (arrows) on front pillar and on main frame member.






4 Screw out upper screws (arrows) in engine compartment.






5 Screw out screws (arrows), and screw (28) for headlight molding on turn signal light cutout.






6 Pull bumper down and screw out screws. Remove rubber seal (26) from front fender.
7 Pull front fender toward front and remove.

NOTE: Pull headlight molding (27) forward slightly while removing fender.

Installation
8 Apply MB permanent underfloor protection agent to new fender where applicable.
9 Hold front fender in place and position; assure that rubber seal is correctly positioned on inner fender.






10 After installing fender preserve hollow space above inner fender with hollow cavity sealing agent through opening (arrow) in turn signal cutout. Mask openings on front fender into engine compartment during this operation.

Continue installation in opposite order.

11 Adjust front lights.
