Heater Core Case: Service and Repair
Battery
disconnect negative terminal.
Air conditioning system
drain (recycle).
Coolant
drain.
Wiper system
remove. Wiper and Washer Systems
Left and right water drain (80)
remove, 2 screws.
Center partition wall (81)
remove, 2 rivets and 2 screws.
Housing (84)
detach, 8 screws and 1 rubber stopper.
Clip (95)
slacken.
Hoses at heat exchanger
detach.
Hexagon nut (89)
unscrew and withdraw piping from expansion valve (82).
Tighten to 10 ± 3 Nm.
Both bolts (90)
unscrew and detach expansion valve.
Tighten to 8 ± 2 Nm.

remove. Service and Repair
Center console
remove. [1][2]Procedures
12-pin connector of plug (X85/2)
detach.
Air duct (110) and (111)
detach.
Cross strut (114)
remove.
Hose (112) and (113)
detach.
Bracket (115)
remove.
Air scoop (121) and (122)
remove.
Connecting plate of switchover valve block
detach and unclip vacuum lines 0 - 3.
4 nuts (117)
unscrew and withdraw heater box to the rear.
Heater box
install in the reverse order in the reverse order. The vacuum lines for the switchover valve block are inserted into the connecting plate as follows.
0 medium-green/yellow
1 medium-green/light blue
2 dark red
3 medium-green/white.
Coolant
pour in and check cooling system for leaks.
Air conditioning system
evacuate, fill and check operation and leaks.
Run engine at idle only for the first 4 minutes.
