Lowering Left or Right Side For Mount Replacement






NOTE:
^ Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.
^ When lowering the right side, ensure the fuel hose is not tensioned excessively.
^ After lowering, refer to Rubber Mount Replacement.

REMOVAL
- Remove both frame cross braces (36), refer to Body and frame.
- Remove complete exhaust system (105), refer to Exhaust System.
- Remove exhaust heat shield (105c)
- Remove propeller shaft (106) at joint flange and at center bearing (106a), refer to Transmission and Drivetrain
- Remove tunnel closing plate (108).
- On models with Adaptive Damping System (ADS), remove connecting rod from level sensor

NOTE: Use suitable support with assembly attachment tool No. 140 589 01 02 00, or equivalent to lower unit after removing bolts of mounts to be replaced.

- Remove bolts (1c, 1d) for mounting to be replaced

INSTALLATION
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Using a suitable tap, re tap threads of frame floor for rubber mounting bolts (1c, 1d)
- Tighten the following components to:
- Rubber Mount To Frame Floor: 70 Nm
- Propeller Shaft Flexible Disk Bolts:
10 mm bolts: 40 Nm
12 mm bolts: 60 Nm
- Propeller shaft intermediate bearing to frame floor
Bolt with washer: 25 Nm
Bolt with collar and centering tip: 30 Nm
- Self-locking bolt, rear cross brace to frame floor: 120 Nm
- Self-locking bolt, tunnel closing plate to frame floor: 25 Nm
