AR82.85-P-7472P Remove/Install Operating, Display and Control Unit
- with CODE (352) COMAND operating and display unit
DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from gas Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte Risk of injure from caustic burns to eyes and skin from battery electrolyte or from handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and eye protection Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked container
1 Connect quiescent current retention device
See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.
2 Disconnect ground cable of battery
3 Remove cover from center console
4 Unscrew screws (1)
5 Remove COMAND operating, display Take out COMAND control unit (A40/3)
6 Separate the connections (1, 2, A, B, D, E, F)
7 Disconnect connector on fiber optic cable (D2B)
NOTE: Fit fiber optic cable connector and radio connection with caps.
8 Install in the reverse order
9 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
- Stored faults possibly caused by previous simulation or by cables disconnected in the process of installation or testing must be processed and erased in the DTC memories once all work is completed.
10 Make electrical system operational
NOTE: Only if no quiescent current retention unit has been used.
