Illustrated On Model 202 With Automatic Air Conditioning:

DANGER:
- Explosion hazard when performing welding or brazing work on closed air conditioning. Poisoning hazard from inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Injury hazard from eye or skin contact with liquid refrigerant
- Never perform welding or brazing work on the closed air conditioning system or in its vicinity. Smoking and open flame is prohibited. Wear protective goggles and protective gloves, work only in well ventilated rooms. Perform repair work on air conditioning circuit only if system is discharged.

CAUTION:
- Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture during repair work
- In the event of malfunctions to the air conditioning, resulting from leakage, contamination or icing up always install new receiver/drier (3) when replacing or repairing A/C compressor.

1 Drain air conditioning (recycle), evacuate, charge, check for leakage

CAUTION: Add quantity of compressor oil evacuated to refrigeration circuit when charging air conditioning.

2 Disconnect refrigerant pressure sensor connector (B12)
3 Unscrew refrigerant pressure sensor (B12)

NOTE:
- On model 202 as of September 1995, 208, 210 with automatic air conditioning, also unscrew refrigerant temperature sensor (B12/1)
- Installation: When installing moisten thread with compressor oil.

4 Disconnect lines (1 and 2) from receiver/drier
- Lines on receiver/drier: 17 N.m

NOTE:
- Plug openings (parts kit)
- Installation: When installing lines, moisten threads with compressor oil.

5 Unscrew screws (arrows)
6 Remove receiver/drier (3)
- On vehicles with code 480 level control position oil supply reservoir to side

7 Loosen damping strap (4) with retaining lugs and pull off
8 Reinstall in opposite order.

NOTE: Observe quantity of oil to be added when replacing receiver/drier.

- Additional oil filling capacity when replacing receiver/drier: 10 cu.cm

9 Switch on air conditioning and allow it to idle for approx. 4 minutes

NOTE: Set temperature dials to blue or automatic air conditioning to "LO" Blower to max.

10 Check air conditioning for proper function

NOTE: Air outlet temperature at center nozzle should not drop below + 5 degrees C, if necessary Perform diagnosis accordingly.

11 Find leaky point in air conditioning circuit.
- Air conditioning leak detector
