Idler Arm: Service and Repair



Remove/install Steering Idler Arm, Replacing Bearing Bush







CAUTION: Installation: Replace self-locking nuts

1 Remove drag link (11) on steering idler arm (26)
2 Remove heat shield (26g)
3 Unscrew nut (26b) Pull out bolt (26a) and remove steering idler arm (26) with bearing bush(26k)
4 Loosen clamping screw (26e)
5 Remove bearing bush (26k)

NOTE: Installation: The slight offset of the steering idler arm must point towards the collar of the bearing bush/bearing bush.

- The steering idler arm is adjusted in a defined position "a" =19.1 mm on the bearing bush (26k)
- "a" = 19.1 mm

NOTE: The adjusted position may be changed by a maximum of 5 mm by correcting the ball point position If the specified ball point position is not reached within this adjustment range the bearing tube/body is deformed

6 Install in the reverse order
