Panorama Sliding Roof Causes Noises During Vehicle Operation and/or When Closed

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the panorama sliding roof is noisy during vehicle operation and/or when closed, repair as follows.

Condition 1 - If noisy when closed, the stationary glass section cam may be dry.

1. Tilt the roof to the open position.

2. With sand paper, roughen the surface of the stationary glass section cam.

3. Thoroughly clean the top and sides of the stationary glass section cam.

4. Remove the protective film from the felt strip and bond the felt strip to the center of the cam concealing the entire cam surface. Use a small wedge or scraper to press the felt strip firmly in place.

Condition 2 - If noisy when moving:

A. There is not enough oil in the outer guide rail.

1. Tilt the roof to the open position

2. Use a thin brush and apply special oil to the outer guide rail (Figure 1, 2) along its entire length.

3. Open and close the panorama roof to distribute the special oil.

B. There is not enough grease in the system.

1. Fully open the panorama roof

2. Lubricate slide rail (Figure 1, 3) and rear gate (Figure 1, 4) with brush and lubricant
