Washer nozzles and washer nozzle hose heaters, function
The washer nozzle heaters (R2/1) and washer nozzle hose heaters (R2/11) are switched on automatically when:
- Circuit 61 on (engine: on) and
- an outside temperature of less than 5 °C is detected.
Switch off is accomplished automatically when:
- Circuit 61 off (engine: off) or
- an outside temperature greater than 8 °C is detected.
If the values are missing or implausible (outside temperature, circuit 61) the washer nozzle heater (R2/1) and the washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are not actuated.
Actuation of heating elements
The heating elements of the washer nozzle heater (R2/1) and the washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are switched in parallel. The washer nozzle heater (R2/1) and the washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are actuated directly by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). In this case, the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) switches term. 30 onto the heating elements.
Required data
- The outside temperature is recorded by the outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) directly reads in the sensor.
- The status of circuit 61 of the alternator (G2) is read in directly by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
