A. Rubbing noises in the area of the instrument cluster frame (1, Figure 1)

B. Buzzing noises in the area of the centerfill cover (2, Figure 1)

Procedures

A. Rubbing noises in the area of the instrument cluster frame

Models 203.040/061/064/065/081/084/261/264/281/284/740/747/764 up to VIN A692258 or VIN F599665

The instrument cluster frame may rub on the instrument cluster when driving. This complaint occurs under rough road surface conditions.

1. Remove instrument cluster. (See WIS-document AR54.30-P-6015P)





2. Stick felt strip (material thickness: 0.5 - 1 mm) at the bottom of the ribs of the instrument cluster frame (Figure 2).

B. Buzzing noises in the area of the centerfill cover

Models 203.040/061/064/065/081/084/261/264/281/284/740/747/764 up to VIN A705942 or VIN F608943

Buzzing noises occur due to there being too much play in the centerfill cover.

1. Remove centerfill cover. (See WIS-document AR68.10-P-1150PA)





2. Apply felt (1, Figure 3) in order to brace the grill.
