Audio System Intermittently Not Functioning
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the audio system having any of the below complaints, please check the version of the Audio Gateway (AGW).
^ HU locks up
^ HU resets
^ Black screen
^ Static noise from speakers
^ STAR after startup
^ DTC D004, D116, D117 and may have D100, D102 preset in AGW
^ Intermittent audio
Note:
The new AGW SW 49/03 fixes the above conditions which were addressed in the superseded Dealer Technical Bulletins listed above.
To check the version of the AGW, follow the below procedure.
^ Select the correct model
^ Select Control Units
^ Select Information and communication
^ Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics
^ Select AGW - Audio Gateway (MOST network management, diagnosis gateway, radio tuner)
^ Select Control unit version
At this point, please verify the software status (SW). If the software status is 49/03, please contact the Enhanced Diagnostic Assistance Center for further diagnosis. If the software status is lower than 49/03, please update the AGW per the below procedure using DAS version 06/03 or newer and CD labeled
"SDflash release CD - AGW SW 49/03 for models: 211, 240."
Note:
SDflash release CD 01/04 does not contain latest AGW software (49/03).
Note:
Please ensure that system voltage is above 12.5 V during update process. Use battery charger or start the engine. Turn off all unnecessary electrical consumers ex. AC, lights,
To update AGW, follow the below procedure.
^ Insert CD labeled "SDflash release CD - AGW SW 49/03 for models: 211, 240" into CD drive of Star Diagnosis (it must stay in the drive during the flash)
^ Select the correct model
^ Select Control units
^ Select Information and communication
^ Select Audio, video, navigation and telematics
^ Select AGW - Audio Gateway (MOST network management, diagnosis gateway, radio tuner)
^ Select Initial startup
^ Select Control module programming
^ Select SDflash release CD
^ Erase fault memory
^ Exit DAS, disconnect from vehicle's diagnostic port and remove ignition key.
^ Wait approximately 3 minutes and then start diagnosis with SDS again.
^ Perform Short Test and clear all DTCs.
Note:
If flash was not successful and was aborted by itself, follow recommended guidelines as per STAR DIAGNOSIS. At times, it may be required to retry FLASH more than once.
After updating the AGW, please check the version of the AGW and insure the version coding has been successful. Software status should be 49/03.
