Cell Phone - Intermittent Power ON/OFF/Erratic Operation

Cellular Telephone: Intermittent Power ON/OFF

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles where the cellular telephone exhibits the following symptoms, replace the communications platform with Q3 level.

1. Phone will power ON and then immediately power OFF upon start-up

2. Phone will not activate when TEL button is pressed

3. Phone must be removed, powered ON, and then re-inserted to restore phone function

4. Phone can only be powered ON by opening flip and using power button on keypad

Determine the software level of the Communications Platform by using the following steps.

1. Connect to SDS

2. Enter the Control unit version of the CP by following:

a. Control units

b. Information and communication

c. Audio, video, navigation and Telematics

d. CTEL / TELE-AID

e. Control unit version

f. Control unit TELE-AID

3. If the "software version" is earlier than 47/03, replace the communications platform, A240 820 15 26 Q2, with part number A240 820 15 26 Q3.

4. If the software version is 47/03 or later, continue with diagnosis.

5. Disconnect from SDS.
