Load Compartment Cover Drive Mechanism is Noisy

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the load compartment cover drive mechanism being noisy when raising and lowering the load compartment cover, this may be due to tolerance issues in the manufacturing of the flexible shafts. This can lead to insufficient play of the internal shaft in the sheath. Only drive units up to Q4 level are affected. To resolve, perform the below procedure.

1. Replace the drive unit with a unit that has a Q level of Q5 or higher.





2. Cover the contact surface of the flexible shafts on the body in the area of the D-pillars (Figure 1) with adhesive backed felt.
