Interior - Rear Seat Back Rest Difficult to Lock

Rear Seat Backrest Difficult / Will Not Lock

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the right rear seat backrest is difficult or impossible to lock, the stop screw may be incorrectly adjusted. To resolve, adjust the stop screw as follows.

1. Fold up right rear seat cushion

2. Fold down right rear seat backrest





3. Screw plastic adjusting screw (Figure 1) all the way in using a 12 mm box wrench

4. Fold up right rear seat backrest and lock in place

5. Unscrew plastic adjusting screw (Figure 2) using a 12 mm open end wrench until the twin roller blinds get tight

6. Check operation of seat backrest lock, ensuring the release force of the rear backrest is not too high

7. Fold down right rear seat cushion

Note:
The allowable labor operations should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair.
