Rattling and/or Clicking Noise from Front Axle

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of either a rattling or clicking noise from the front axle, this may be the result of tolerances between the brake pad linings and the caliper mounting anchor. In order to verify the rattling noise condition, drive the vehicle on a rough road surface. The rattling noise will cease once the brake pedal is applied. The clicking noise can be verified during the 1st brake application after a change in vehicle direction (forward / reverse). The clicking noise will cease after subsequent brake applications. If these conditions are verified then replace the brake caliper mounting anchor with revised parts.





Note:
The revised brake anchor parts must have a date code greater than or equal to 2213 (Figure 1).
