Brakes - Software Patch Necessary Before Bleeding System

"Bleed Brake System" and "Check Brake System For Air" on the Sensotronic Brake
Control (SBC) System Using STAR Diagnosis
In the above model vehicles, the following conditions may be present after the STAR Diagnosis patch (2004-02-25-0213) was installed on DAS software version 02/2004 or DAS software version 03/2004 has been installed without patch (2004-03-10-0219) installed.
^ The Bleed Brake System" function cannot be performed once the system has been deactivated.
^ The Bleed Brake System" function can only be performed after the Activate Brake System" is performed.
^ The Check Brake System For Air" test cannot be passed, since the specified pressure of 20 bar cannot be reached. A notice that the brake system has to be bled again will appear.
In order to successfully bleed the brake system or check the system for air, install the software patch (2004-03-10-0219) for STAR Diagnosis DAS versions 02/2004 and 03/2004.
Note:
The (2004-03-10-0219) patch must be installed after the STAR Diagnosis DAS software version 02/2004 and 03/2004 has been installed.
Note:
Previous versions of STAR Diagnosis may no longer be used. The required software revisions have been integrated into STAR Diagnosis software versions 04/2004 and later.
Warning!
If the brake system has been opened, then the brakes must be bled using STAR Diagnosis Bleed Brake System" function before the brake system is activated again. This must be done regardless of what other operations were performed on the brake system.
