Communications Platform Replacement Instructions

Use Automatic Data Transfer Method as of DAS 05/2003

This DTB updates the previous instruction of manually coding the Communications Platform upon replacement. The automatic method can be activated by selecting:

Read coding and transfer to the new control unit

The following steps are how to correctly replace the Communications Platform

Step 1 - Connect SDS and verify that DAS version 05/2003 is loaded. If earlier version DAS is present, please load version 05/2003.

Step 2 - Enter the Communications Platform menu by following the path:

1. Control units

2. Information and communication

3. Audio, video, navigation, and telematics

4. CTEL - Control unit Telecommunication

5. Control unit adaptations

6. Read coding and transfer to new control unit

Step 3 - Follow the instructions listed in DAS. In short, these processes will read the data from the old unit, prompt to remove the old unit, prompt to install the new unit, and transfer the data to the new unit. There is also a screen that lists the phone number of ATX and instructions on how to register the new CP.

Step 4 - Contact ATX according to the instructions provided by DAS.

Step 5 - After call to ATX is terminated, disconnect SDS.

Step 6 - Place a service call to verify functionality of new Communications Platform.

Note:
Always disconnect the white connector first when removing the CP and connect last when installing the CP. This method will prevent the triggering of irrelevant fault codes, as the white connector contains the power supply.
