GF82.60-P-2001TB Radio Operation, Function

Radio reception function
The antennas in the rear window receive FM, AM (LW, SW) high-frequency signals. The music, voice and data signal is modulated to these high-frequency signals. The left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) filters out the frequencies of the radio frequency bands from the high-frequency signals received and amplifies them. The amplified signals are then transferred to the radio receiver in the audio gateway control module (N93/1) by the left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) via a shared coaxial cable (FM, AM).
The radio receiver demodulates the high-frequency signals, i.e. it separates the useful information (audible frequencies) from the carrier signal (inaudible). The demodulated audio signals are amplified and converted into sound signals by the vehicle loudspeakers.

By pressing the "FM or AM" function key the system switches to the radio menu. Options for station tuning:
^ Station list (next/previous memory location)
^ Program type list
^ Frequency list
^ Station search (next/previous station)
^ Station search at multifunction steering wheel
^ Autostore memory
^ Scan/search (the stations of a waveband are played for 8 seconds)
^ Manual tuning
^ Station memory (10 stations for each waveband and 7 stations pretuned in the weather band range)
^ Manual frequency input (via the 12-button control panel of the operating unit)

The following functions are also available. They appear on the Audio 20 CC display:
^ AM noise suppression
^ Selection of RDS stations with good reception
^ RDS functions PS, TP, TA, EON, PTY, PTY 30/ 31

Radio Data System (RDS) function (regional mode)
Apart from the sound radio program many radio stations (FM) broadcast additional, inaudible, digital information such as station names, program type (PTY) (e.g. pop, culture, etc.) and traffic recognition.

This information is evaluated by the radio operating module (A2) and displayed on the screen, if the following conditions are met:
^ An RDS station is tuned
^ The RDS function is activated
