Heating and Cooling Set Points
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that both the heating and cooling set points stabilize at an interior temperature that is either too warm or too cool, the set point can be adjusted by up to 3 °C. This can be accomplished using DAS and the below menu path.
Control units -> Body -> EIS - Electronic Ignition switch -> Control unit adaptations -> Read coding and change if necessary -> Climate control -> Special settings Climate control
The DAS screen will now display a warning. Warning! Since it is possible to change the operating parameters for Manual recirculated air control, Sun sensor and Temperature correction. Making changes to the manual recirculated air control from its factory setting could affect vehicle safety. If the manual recirculated air control is set to unlimited, having the recirculation switch engaged could result in the windows in the car becoming foggy that may result in an accident due to lack of visibility. Therefore, the repairing workshop must only change the temperature set point. Any change to the recirculated air control or any change other than that specifically authorized in this bulletin will be the sole responsibility of the repairing workshop.
Continue in DAS by selecting:
F2 -> Special settings -> enter the correct VIN if necessary and F2 -> enter the code number (password) available from the TAC -> F3 to confirm code number is correct -> Temperature correction -> F2 to acknowledge that the factory setting is 0 -> Select either -3, -2, -1, 0, +1, +2, or +3 for a temperature correction in degrees Celsius -> F3 -> F3 Yes
Selecting +3 will result in an increase in the interior temperature of 3 °C or 5.4 °F for the same temperature set point on the air conditioning push button unit in both the heating and cooling mode. Conversely, selecting -3 will result in a decrease in the interior temperature of 3 °C or 5.4 °F for the same temperature set point on the air conditioning push button unit in both the heating and cooling mode.
