GF82.70-P-2008P Setting Up/Ending Telephone Call, Function

MODELS 203.0 /2 /7 up to 23.4.04
- with CODE (388) "Portable CTEL" UPCI telephone system

Placing a call
Function prerequisites:
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Enabled Subscriber identification module (SIM) card
- Correct personal identification number (PIN) entry and successful log-in

With the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system, all calls are made with the portable CTEL (A34/6) via the hands- free system.

The user has several ways of setting up the call:
- Using the portable CTEL (A34/6) after entering the required telephone number using the numeric keypad on the portable CTEL (A34/6) and pressing the "Accept telephone call" button on the portable CTEL (A34/6).
- The phone number is entered for the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) via the numeric keypad on the right-hand side. The call is established on pressing the bottom right rotary/push button.
- With the aid of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) it is possible to select a stored telephone number in the telephone book, which is shown in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1), by using the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) and the system selection button (S110s3). The call is then set up using the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3).

When entering the number, it is possible for the user to simplify number entry with the appropriate number keys by calling up the desired numbers directly from a memory created for this purpose. In this case, it is possible to call numbers stored either on the SIM card or in the telephone memory. If an audio device is active when a call is started, it is muted regardless of whether it is an incoming or outgoing call.

While the device is muted, "Phone" appears in the display of the particular audio device and in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1).

Terminating a call
The user has several ways of terminating the call:
- Pressing the "Terminate call" button on the portable CTEL (A34/6).
- Pressing the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the MFL.
- By pressing the "Terminate call" control button on the installed audio device.
