Function
The position of the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) can be stored manually or automatically with the memory function.
For manually storing a position, the left front door ESA switch group (with memory) (S91/2) has a memory location 1, 2, 3 switch (S91/2s14) as well as a memory switch (S91/2s9) required for starting the storage procedure.The signal for storing the position of the left front door control unit (N69/1) relayed via the CAN-B (CAN-B) and is read in by the driver front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1).
Before storage, the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) are adjusted to the desired position with the exterior light switch module (S1)
There are two possibilities for manual storage.
- Press and hold down memory switch (S91/2s9) and simultaneously actuate the desired memory position button in memory location switch 1, 2 3 (S91/2s14) for a short time.
- Actuate memory switch (S91/2s9) for min. 0.1 s and press desired memory position button in memory button 1, 2, 3 switch (S91/2s14) within 3 s.
The last position is stored automatically when the transmitter key is removed from the EIS control unit (N73).
The positions of the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) are stored in the left front door control unit (N69/1) and right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) in the right front door control unit (N69/1).
On vehicles up to 31.8.05, the outside mirror position is stored key-related, i.e. three memory positions can be stored on each transmitter key.
This function is omitted on vehicles as of 1.9.05. Only three memory positions can be stored that are not dependent upon the key.
