GF91.60-P-0002-08PP Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deployment Logic

In the event of an accident the restraint systems control unit (N2/7) decides which airbag are deployed. In doing so it considers the following input variables:
- acceleration values of the sensors integrated into the restraint systems control unit (N2/7)
- acceleration values of the left sidebag and windowbag sensor (A53/1) and the right sidebag and windowbag sensor (A54/1)

For the front seats the following input variables are also taken into consideration:
- condition of driver seat belt buckle restraint systems switch (S68/3)
- condition of front passenger seat belt buckle restraint systems switch (S68/4).

Plus the following for the front passenger seat:
- Occupancy recognition of the front passenger seat via the front passenger seat occupied and child seat recognition sensor (B48)

As a function check is not possible for the supplemental restraint system, a description of the individual triggering strategies is not provided here.
Beyond this, the triggering strategies are also subject to modifications, such as, e.g. those which result from new knowledge gained in the area of accident research.
