General
The radio and navigation unit (A2/56) is the central operating unit for the entertainment and communication systems integrated in the vehicle within the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). A CD drive, a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, a turn rate sensor (gyro sensor), a navigation processor and an audio amplifier are integrated. The radio and navigation unit is equipped with a color display to output information such as operating menus, function button assignment and function status.

The radio and navigation unit actuates the following control units via MOST:
- Amplifier for sound system (N40/3), with code (810) Sound system
- CD player with changer (in glove box) (A2/6), with code (819) 6-disk CD changer
- Universal Portable Cell Phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1), with code (386) Mobile phone
- Voice control system control unit (A35/11), with code (813) Voice control system (VCS [SBS])

As a maximum, the radio and navigation unit is equipped with the following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents:

- Navigation mode
