Function requirements:
- Combination switch (S4) set to "Low beam ON" position.
- The EIS control unit (N73) is programmed to "Xenon headlamp NO" and reports this via the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).

The exterior lamp switch (S1s1) of the light switch module (S1) is set to the "driving lamps ON" position. The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) registers the switch position of the exterior lamp switch (S1s1). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) controls the following lamps via a discrete wiring:
- Left low beam (E1e2)
- Left standing and parking lamp (E1e3)
- Right low beam (E2e2)
- Right standing and parking lamp (E2e3)

The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) sends simultaneously via the Controller Area Network bus Class B (interior) (CAN-B) the signal "standing lamp ON" to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). After receipt of the message the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the following lamps via a discrete line:
- Left taillamp and parking lamp (E3e2)
- Right taillamp and parking lamp (E4e2)
- Left license plate lamp (E19/1)
- Right license plate lamp (E19/2)

In the "headlamp ON" position, low beam and the standing lamps are always actuated together.
