Heater Core: Description and Operation

The heater core serves for heating the air flowing through to the various defroster, vent and heating nozzles in the vehicle passenger compartment.

The heated coolant flows through the heater core for the left and right side separately. The banks of aluminum tubes and louvers transfer the heat to the outside where it is absorbed by the air flowing by on its way to the various defroster ventilation and heater vents in the vehicle passenger compartment.
