B. Installing the linear compensator1. In the right side compartment of the telephone electronics compartment cut the wire tie bundling together the:
^ Compensator power cable (A, Figure 4)
^ Antenna coaxial cable female connector (B, Figure 4)
^ Harness coaxial cable male connector (C, Figure 4)
2. Place the linear compensator near its point of installation and connect the antenna coaxial cable female connector (B, Figure 4) to the linear compensator jack labeled "ANTENNA" (Figure 5).
3. Mount the linear compensator to the right side compartment of the telephone electronics compartment:
a. Slide the compensator mounting-lip under the compartment tabs (A, Figure 6).
b. Secure the opposite end of the compensator with two Phillips screws (B, Figure 6).
Note:
The compensator side with the jack labeled "ANTENNA" must face the vehicle front and the side labeled "PORTABLE" with the power connector receptacle next to it must face the vehicle rear (Figure 6).
4. Connect the compensator adapter cable (found in the kit) male connector to the compensator jack labeled "PORTABLE" (A, Figure 7).
5. Connect the female connector of the compensator adapter cable to the harness coaxial cable male connector (B, Figure 7).
6. Connect the compensator power cable to the linear compensator (C, Figure 7).
7. Reinstall the carrier plate cover with the two screws previously removed.
8. Reinstall the vapor barrier.
