COMAND Head Unit Hangs at the Star Symbol When Booting Up, Cannot Be Operated or No Sound At Start

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of COMAND Head Unit exhibiting one of the following, do not replace any parts at this time. These conditions are caused by software error and are under investigation.

^ Hangs up at the MB star symbol when starting the ignition and/or when pressing the power button.

Note:
Ensure the audio gateway is operating correctly and the MOST bus is locked.

^ COMAND Fails to power up or there is a long delay before turning ON and no sound detected at start.

^ COMAND keeps attempting to start without success. The head unit will attempt to turn on and just before it displays the disclaimer it powers off. This action may occur several times. After this, the head unit may or may not power on.
