Daytime Running Light Actuation, Function
Daytime Running Light Actuation, Function
Operational sequence
1 Basic prerequisite:
- The exterior light switch (S1) is in position "0".
- The function "Headlamp circuit" is set to "Continuous" or is permanently programmed for many countries in the instrument cluster and cannot be changed.
2 The engine is started and the EIS control module (N73) signals the national coding to the left SAM control module (N10/10), passenger SAM (N10/11) and rear SAM (N10/8) via the data bus (1).
3 The instrument cluster (A1) recognizes via terminal 61 that the engine has started and sends the "Daytime running light ON" signal over the databus (1) to the left front SAM control module (N10/10).
4 The left SAM control module (N10/10) relays the "Daytime running light ON" to the right front SAM control module (N10/11) and rear SAM control module (N10/8) via the data bus and simultaneously actuates.
- the parking lamp in the left headlamp unit and
- the low beams (E2e2) in the right-hand lamp assembly.
5 The right SAM control module (N10/11) and rear SAM control module (N10/8) receive the signal "Daytime running light ON"
6 The right SAM control module (N10/11) actuates
- the parking lamp in the right headlamp unit and
- the low beams (E1e2) in the left-hand lamp assembly.
7 The rear SAM control module (N10/8) actuates
- the taillamps in the left and right taillamp and
- the left and right-hand license-plate lamps (E19/1 and E19/2)
