Component Identification:

The fuel pump is actuated:
^ During ignition ON: The fuel pump is actuated for about 5 seconds (can be heard partially) as a full running protection.
^ During start operation by means of the first signals supplied by the crankshaft position sensor.
^ When engine running by means of "TNA" engine speed signal.

The fuel is actuated through the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay is placed on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The fuel pump relay is actuated by a ground signal from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit. If the power contact of the relay is closed, the intank fuel pump control unit is connected via "terminal 87" with "terminal 30" (B+).

If the fuel pump does not run, first test the voltage supply of the ME control unit and then the fuse on the fuel pump.
