Knocking Noise from Rear Axle





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a knocking noise from the rear axle area during normal driving operation, inspect the torsion bar link rod (Figure 1, 6k, circle) at the top of the attachment point to wheel carrier for axial play and replace the corresponding bolt if necessary. Refer to WIS document AF32.20-P-1500AG.

NOTE:
Torque for bolt -- link rod to wheel carrier 40 Nm (WIS document BA32.20-P-1005-04C).
