General
The radio (A2) is the central control panel for the entertainment and communications systems integrated in the vehicle within the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). One CD drive and one audio amplifier are integrated.
The radio is equipped with a monochromatic display to output information such as function button assignment, function status and operating menus.

The following control units are actuated by the radio via MOST:
- CD player with changer (in glove box) (A2/6), with code (819) 6-disk CD changer
- Universal Portable Cell Phone Interface (UPCI [UHI]) control unit (N123/1), with code (386) Mobile phone
- Amplifier for sound system (N40/3), with code (810) Sound system

As a maximum, the radio is equipped with the following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents:
- Switch on/off characteristics
- Volume and tone settings
- Audio mode
- Telephone mode, with code (386) Mobile phone
