GF67.29-P-0003QA Heated Rear Window, Function

Component Identification:

Function prerequisites:
^ C. 15 ON
^ No undervoltage of overvoltage present
^ Soft top closed and locked

Function
When the heated rear window switch (N22s1) on the AAC control and operating unit (N22) or the heated rear window switch (N22/7s1) on the Comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) are pressed, the heated rear window (R1) is activated by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) This is indicated by a function LED in the heated rear window switch (N22s1 or N22/7s1).
Pressing again erases the function and the function LED in the heated rear window switch (N22s1 or N22/7s1) goes out.

Switch-on/switch-off logic
The logic, if and how long the heated rear window (R1) is switched on after request, is implemented in the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The time control can be adjusted with diagnosis (0 to 30 minutes).

The heated rear window (R1) is not activated when the soft top is open.
The overhead control panel control module (N70) receives the information by the left soft top locked limit switch (S84/11) and soft top limit switch in catch position (S84/18) and transmits it to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the Control Area Network Bus, class B (passenger compartment) (CAN-B).

Undervoltage
If the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) recognizes a vehicle voltage less than 10.8 V for min. 5 s, the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) switches off the heated rear window (R1). In this case, the function LED in the heated rear window switch (N22s1 or N22/7s1) flashes. If the vehicle voltage increases above 11.6 V within 30 s, the heated rear window (R1) is automatically switched on and the indicator LED illuminates continuously.

The ON time continues to elapse during the low voltage period. If, however, voltage is too low for longer than 30 s, the heated rear window (R1) is completely switched off. Even if voltage is extremely too high or too low (vehicle voltage less than 8 V or greater than 17 V), the heated rear window (R1) switches off completely.
The heated rear window (R1) must then switched back on manually

The vehicle voltage is read in from the EIS control module (N73) and is relayed to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the Control Area Network Bus, class B (passenger compartment) (CAN-B).
