AR40.30-P-0402-01VM Carrying out distance and comparative measurements on front axle
Modification Notes:
Test Values For Distance And Comparative Measurement On Front Axle:
Special Tools:
The measuring set is designed in such a way, that the measuring bolts, according to the measuring points at the vehicle, can be screwed together out of mounting bolts, extensions and measuring tips/bolts.
The configuration of the measuring bolts is shown in the table, where the numbers in the column headed "Measuring tip/bolt configuration" are the special tool end numbers.
For example: 02/06/10=
168 589 07 63 02 (support stud)
168 589 07 63 06 (extension)
168 589 07 63 10 (measuring tip)
Component Identification:
1 Measure comparative measurement (V1) from the check point (K) to the bolted connection of the suspension strut on the lower transverse control arm. Measure on the left and right side in each case.
In order to assess the effects of accident damage, the bearings on the torque strut and spring control arm must be undamaged. Because of the inaccuracies resulting from the tolerances of the bearings, the comparative measure (V1) is only usable to a certain extent.
Component Identification:
2 Measure comparison dimension (V2) from the check point (K) to the longitudinal member of the body, left to right.
This measurement is a reference dimension for the body.
Component Identification:
3 Measure distance dimension (V8) from the centering point of the Torx bolt heads between the rear bearings of the front axle carrier.
Component Identification:
4 Measure distance dimension (V9) from the centering point of the Torx bolt heads between the front bearings of the front axle carrier.
Component Identification:
5 Measure distance dimension (V10) diagonally from the centering point of the Torx bolt heads between the front and rear mount of the front axle carrier, left to right.
