M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump)

Test 1: Check component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump).

1. Check component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump).

Test 1.1: Check component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump) by means of actuation.

Test 1.2: Test current consumption of component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump).

Test 1.3: Test current consumption of component N10/9kO (Charge air cooler recirculation pump relay).

1.1. Check component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump) by means of actuation.
Test sequence

- Ignition ON
- Actuate component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump).
Actuate with key F2.







Warning!Communication with ECU required.

Test prerequisite

- Component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump) does not run.
Test sequence

- Switch off ignition.
- Unplug component N10/9kO (Charge air cooler recirculation pump relay) from component N10/9 (SAM control module with fuse and relay module, front passenger).
- Connect multimeter as specified in connection diagram (right-hand figure).
- Measure direct current with multimeter between sockets [N10/9kO] 3 and [N10/9kO] 5
- Switch on ignition.
Component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump) runs.Specified value

- Amperage [3.0...5] A

NO
The measurement value is not OK.Possible cause and remedy

- Check fuse N10/9f53 (Fuse 53).
- Line from component N10/9kO (Charge air cooler recirculation pump relay) to component M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump)
- If the actual value is lower then the specified value, there may be air in the low temperature circuit.
- M44 (charge air cooler circulation pump)
Check low-temperature circuit.Continue with F2

Information

- The low temperature coolant circuit cap may only be opened when the low temperature circuit is cold (ambient temperature).To cool the low temperature circuit quickly, detach component K40/8k0 and link circuits 30 and 87.At the same time, actuate the electric suction fan via DAS.







1.3. Test current consumption of component N10/9kO (Charge air cooler recirculation pump relay).
Test sequence

- Switch off ignition.
- Connect socket box (126-pin) to component N3/10 (ME-SFI [ME] control unit).
- Measure direct current with multimeter between sockets [3.4] 37 and [4.22] 107 of the 126-pole socket box tester.
- Switch on ignition.
