Check Engine Light On
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of the check engine light being activated (various fault codes stored in engine ECU) and fuse N10/1f54 has blown, this may be due to possible chafing of the engine wiring harness at the front left lower engine compartment panel bracket (Figure 1 and 2). If chafing marks are found, proceed as follows to resolve.
1. Disconnect battery ground. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-0003V.
2. Remove encapsulation panels. Refer to WIS document AR61.20-P-1105TX.
3. Detach connectors of refrigerant pressure sensor (Figure 1, 1) and suction fan (Figure 2, 2).
4. Repair damaged wiring (Figure 3) and wrap with insulating tape.
5. Remove both tie straps on the radiator console (Figure 4-1) and install new tie straps (Figure 4-2).
6. Pull wiring harness upwards until it no longer is in contact with the engine compartment panel bracket (Figure 4).
7. The branch off for the fog light branch of the harness must be around the tie strap as outlined in Figure 5 (arrow).
8. Tighten both tie straps and cut off protruding ends.
9. Reinstall connectors for refrigerant pressure sensor and suction fan and replace fuse N10/1f54. Refer to WIS document GF54.15-P-1256-03SK.
10. Connect battery ground. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-0003V.
11. Erase fault memory and perform quick test.
