GF54.65-P-2000PP Self-test, Function
- MODEL 203.0 /2 /7
- with CODE (220) Parktronic system (PTS)
up to Model Year 8
Self-test, function
The Parktronic control unit (N62) carries out a self-test after the ignition is switched on (circuit 15 On)
The following are checked:
- PTS control module (N62)
- Center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4)
- PTS warning display (rear dome lamp) (A44/3)
- PTS sensor unit, front bumper (A42)
- PTS sensor unit, rear bumper (A43)
- Complete wiring
When functioning correctly the center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) and the Rear dome lamp PTS warning indicator (A44/3) is actuated for approx. 1 second, i.e. all the frames and segments light up with a background illumination of 60%.
The Parktronic control unit (N62) carries out further self-tests at regular intervals.
System in order:
The readiness for operation of the Parktronic system (PTS) is displayed by the lighting up of the frames of the active center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) or the rear dome lamp PTS warning indicator (A44/3). The background lighting is adapted to the brightness of the surroundings in the process. The Parktronic system (PTS) changes over to measuring mode and displays the current measured value.
System fault(s)
If the center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) or the rear dome lamp PTS warning indicator (A44/3) does not receive any valid signals within 0.5 seconds of switching on the ignition (circuit 15 On), the two red segments as well as the two frames light up and a continuous warning chime of approx. 3 seconds sounds. The appropriate center instrument panel PTS warning indicator (A44/4) or rear dome lamp PTS warning indicator (A44/3) is switched off after 20 seconds.
