Function requirements
- Circuit 15R On
- No overvoltage/undervoltage
- No mirror lens adjustment active
- Speed signal < 100 km/h
Function
The left and right outside mirror housings can be folded in and out electrically.
The housings of the two outside mirror housings can be moved to the garage position (mirror housing folded in) or driving position (mirror housing folded out) via the outside mirror fold-in switch (S1s2) and outside mirror fold-out switch (S1s3) located in the light switch module (S1).
For this purpose, it is only necessary to momentarily press the outside mirror fold-in switch (S1s2) or outside mirror fold-out switch (S1s3) and the mirror housings are automatically moved to the desired position.
The adjustment request from the outside mirror fold-in switch (S1s2) or outside mirror fold-out switch (S1s3) is read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) takes over the master function during adjustment and relays the signals to the left front door control unit (N69/1) and right front door control unit (N69/2) via the CAN-B (CAN-B).
The left front door control unit (N69/1) then actuates the mirror fold- in motor (M21/1m3) in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and the right front door control unit (N69/2) actuates the mirror fold-in motor (M21/2m3) in the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2).
If the function prerequisite circuit 15R On is not present after starting to fold in or out, the adjustment is continued until the end position is reached.
Abort conditions
Electrical movement to the position is interrupted if:
- the outside mirror glass adjustment is activated manually
- a memory request is present (only on vehicles with code (275) Electrically adjustable driver seat, steering column and outside mirrors with memory)
- a function prerequisite is no longer present (except circuit status) After interruption, the outside mirror fold-in/out function is continued
Automatically folding in/out, function (only on vehicles up to 31.8.05)
Function requirements
- Circuit 15C Off
- Function in instrument cluster (A1) activated
- No overvoltage/undervoltage
- Mirror housing actuated last in folding out direction (only when folding in)
- Mirror housing previously folded in automatically (only when folding out)
Function
When the vehicle is unlocked with the central locking (CL) from outside with the transmitter key, both mirror housings are folded in automatically (garage position). The next time the vehicle is unlocked with the central locking (CL) and the driver or passenger door are opened, the mirror housings are returned to the previous position.
If the mirror housing is still folded in with circuit 15R On with a previous automatic folding-in procedure, the mirrors are folded out immediately. If the mirror housings were manually adjusted to the garage position, the mirror housings are not adjusted via the automatic adjustment
The automatic fold-in/out function can interrupted any time by adjusting the mirror in the exterior light switch module (S1) Master of this function is the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1), which transmits the corresponding CAN-B (CAN-B) signal to the left front door control unit (N69/1) for actuating the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and right front door control unit (N69/2) for actuating the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2).
Abort conditions
Electrical movement to the position is interrupted if:
- the outside mirror glass adjustment is activated manually
- fold in/out is activated by a switch actuation
- a memory request is present (only on vehicles with code (275) Electrically adjustable driver seat, steering column and outside mirrors with memory)
- a function prerequisite is eliminated
After interruption, the outside mirror fold-in/out function is continued
