Corrosion from the Seam Between Roof and Rear Quarter Panel
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of corrosion (aluminum oxidation) from the seam between the roof and the rear quarter panel (Figure 1), this may be caused by assembly damage.
1. Remove plastic trim strip (Figure 1).
2. Carefully remove all corrosion
3. Clean area thoroughly
4. Apply reactive primer
5. Apply EP Primer Filler and allow to dry per approved paint manufacturer's (listed below) recommendation
6. Sand and clean area thoroughly
7. Restore paint structure per approved paint manufacturer's (listed below) recommendation
8. Apply spray wax thoroughly to repaired area
9. Reinstall plastic trim strip (Figure 1).
