Component Identification:

Location
The multifunction sensor is at the rear left in the engine compartment.

Task
The multifunction sensor acquires the following measured values:
- ambient temperature
- humidity
- pollutant concentration (carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide) in the drawn-in air.

The measured values are read in by the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) and transmitted to the Comfort AAC (C-AAC) control and operating unit (N22/7) via the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B).

The multifunction sensor measured values are needed by the comfort AAC control and operating unit as the basis for climate control and air recirculation control calculations and for actuating the refrigerant compressor (A9).
