The display screen "since start" or " since reset" for the mileage can be activated via the system selection button (S110s3) and scroll forward/back button (S110s1) of the multifunction steering wheel.

The mileages are calculated by evaluating the four wheel speed signals. These reach the instrument cluster as a message from the engine compartment CAN from the ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit (N47-5) (A1). Counting the mileage takes place in parallel with the counting of the mileage counter function of the instrument cluster (A1).

If the display of mileage or travel time exceeds the maximum display value (40959 miles (65535 km) or 99:59 hours), then the travel time and mileage of the respective memory is reset. This preserves the relationship between travel time and mileage.
