C-Pillar Weather Strip Unglued





If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles where the weather strip has separated from the C-pillar (Figure 1), re-glue the weather strip to the vehicle as outlined below to resolve.

1. Lift weather strip where separated to apply adhesive (Figure 1).





2. Thinly coat adhesive tape surface where separated with adhesive loctite (Figure 2, box).

3. Immediately press weather strip against body in the correct position and hold for 1 minute.





4. Verify weather strip is properly adhered (Figure 3).

5. Close the door and allow the adhesive to set.

Note:
Vehicles built after VIN A070868 have a plastic rivet installed to hold the seal in position.
