Body - Power Window Clicking Noise In Down position

Clicking Noise When Power Window Completely Lowered

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a clicking noise when the power window is completely lowered, this may be due to the rubber damper (limit stop) disengaging from the housing in the power window driver. To resolve perform the following procedure.

Front Door:





1. Ensure window is not in the completely open position. Raise the glass 40 mm from the door (Figure 1).

2. Remove speaker in front door as per WIS document AR82.62-P-78451X.





3. Locate and remove rubber damper from housing (Figure 2).





4. Affix MB approved adhesive (Sikomet 85 or Loctite 414) to the rubber damper. Apply one drop of the adhesive to each of the areas that come contact with the housing (Figure 3, arrows).

5. Reinstall rubber damper into housing.

6. Reinstall speaker in front door as per WIS document AR82.62-P-78451X.

Note:
Only one rubber damper exists for each power window.

Rear Door:

1. Ensure window is not in the completely open position. Raise the glass 40 mm from the door (Figure 1).

2. Remove rear door panel as per WIS document AR72.12-P-1010TX.





3. Partially lift up sound insulation barrier in rear door (Figure 4, arrows).





4. Locate and remove rubber damper from housing (Figure 5).

5. Affix MB approved adhesive (Sikomet 85 or Loctite 414) to the rubber damper. Apply one drop of the adhesive to each of the areas that come contact with the housing Figure 3, arrows).

6. Reinstall rubber damper into housing.

7. Secure sound insulation barrier to rear door.

8. Reinstall rear door panel as per WIS document AR72.12-P-1O1OTX.

Note:
Only one rubber damper exists for each power window.
