SUBJECT:
Model 219.375/376/377, Up to VIN A089030 Window Makes a Creaking Noise When Opening/Closing

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding a loud creaking noise from any of the windows when opening/closing, this may be due to insufficient lubrication in the bearing housing of the cable drum. This results in excessive friction between the bearing housing and the cable drum which causes this loud creaking noise.

1. Remove power window motor (Figure 1), refer to WIS document AR72.29-P-1860TX (front door) or AR72.29-P-1880TX (rear door).

2. Lubricate the cable drum from the front side (Figures 2, 3 and 4).

3. Unclip bearing housing from power window to gain better accessibility.

4. Lubricate bearing housing base between the 2 bores (Figures 5 and 6).

5. Reattach bearing housing to power window.

6. Reinstall power window motor (Figure 1), refer to WIS document AR72.29-P-1860TX (front door) or AR72.29-P-1880TX (rear door).
