Power Windows Are Loose / Noisy

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a rattling noise in either the front or rear window glass area, which may occur when the door is closed or when the vehicle is driven over a rough road surface, the mounting nuts (Figures 1-4) of the window guide rail may have come loose causing the window glass to rattle. To resolve, perform the following procedure.

1. Remove the door panel trim. Refer to WIS documents AR72.10-P-1000TX (front door) and AR72.12-P-1010TX (rear door).

2. Carefully peel back the door vapor barrier to expose the guide rail mounting nuts.

3. Replace mounting nuts of the window guide rail one nut at a time with new self-locking nut (part no. A001 990 58 50) (Figure 1-4). Torque to 10 Nm.

4. Perform power window glass adjustment. Refer to WIS documents AR72.10-P-1950TX (front door) and AR72.12-P-1950TX (rear door).
