Lighting - Fogging Inside Of Tail Lamps

Taillamps Fogged
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of fogged tail lamp unit(s), do not replace the taillamp unit. Seam sealer may have damaged the seal strip (Figure 1) of the taillamp unit. Perform the remedy outlined below to resolve.
1. Remove the taillamp. Refer to WIS document AR82.10-P-4905TX.
2. Visually inspect taillamp seal to localize damage and pressure marks.
3. Remove/cut back seam sealant on the body in the same area as the seal damage using a knife.
4. Clean area with silicone remover.
5. If necessary, reapply and spread the seam sealer.
6. Use appropriate touch up method following the repair.
7. Observe paint drying time.
8. Dry the taillamp with hot air gun.
9. Replace the lamp unit sealing ring.
