Component Identification:
Vehicles with 4MATIC feature permanent all-wheel drive. The drive torque is distributed to the drive axles via a one-stage transfer case (2) without off-road ratio.
The ratio is designed such that 60% of the drive torque is transferred to the rear axle and 40% is transferred to the front axle.
The system operates without interaxle or interwheel differential locks. For this, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is fitted as standard. This includes the acceleration slip regulation (ASR), the electronic traction system (ETS) and the antilock brake system (ABS).
