GF83.40-P-2004SX Regulation Of Automatic Air Conditioning, Function

Component Identification:

Function
Automatic air conditioning (AAC [KLA]) regulation is performed via the AAC [KLA] control unit. It is networked via the interior CAN, the chassis CAN, the telematics CAN, the central CAN, the AC bus and the AC LIN with the vehicle electronics system. This in turn makes it possible to incorporate additional climate-relevant influences, in order to improve the regulation quality and to lower power consumption.

The AAC [KLA] control unit receives the following information for regulation purposes:
direct
^ Interior temperature from the in-car temperature sensor
^ Evaporator temperature from the evaporator temperature sensor
^ Temperature at the air outlets from the:
- Left side outlet temperature sensor
- Right side outlet temperature sensor
- Left footwell temperature sensor
- Right footwell temperature sensor
^ Refrigerant pressure from the refrigerant pressure sensor
^ Air flow setting at air outlets from the:
- Left side air outlet potentiometer
- Right side air outlet potentiometer
- Left front center air outlet potentiometer
- Right front center air outlet potentiometer
- Left rear center air outlet potentiometer
- Right rear center air outlet potentiometer

Via the interior CAN
^ Circuit status from the EIS [EZS] control unit
^ Ground speed by the instrument cluster
^ Operation requests from the front central operating unit or from the upper control panel control unit
^ Positions of windows and door status from door control units
^ Actual position of tilting/sliding roof from the overhead control panel control unit
^ Outside temperature from the outside temperature display temperature sensor via the front SAM control unit

Via the AC bus
^ Air quality and air humidity from the multifunction sensor
^ Solar radiation and intensity from the sun sensor

The following components are actuated for control purposes:
Direct
^ Refrigerant compressor

Via the interior CAN
^ from front SAM control unit
- Coolant circulation pump
- Air conditioner water valve

Via the chassis CAN
^ from the CDI control unit or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit
- Engine and air conditioning electric suction fan

Via the AC LIN
^ Blower motor via the blower regulator
^ All actuator motors for air distribution
^ PTC heater booster
