Function
The normalization is the assignment between the absolute position of the adjustment and the position recorded by the left front seat control unit (N32/1) or right front seat control unit (N32/2). Normalization must be performed during initial startup or in a denormalized condition.
Normalization sequence
The following positions must be moved to:
^ Longitudinal adjustment to the front stop
^ Inclination adjustment to the up-stop
^ Height adjustment to the up-stop
^ Depth adjustment to the rear stop
^ Backrest adjustment to the front stop
^ Head restraint adjustment to the lower stop
To do so, press the respective switch (S22s1, S22s2, S22s3, S22s5, S23s1, S23s2, S23s3 and S23s5) in the left front seat operation switch group (S22) or in the right front seat operation switch group (S23) until the respective mechanical stop has been moved to, and keep the switch depressed for another 250 ms. Following successful normalization, the front seat control unit switches off the corresponding motor (M27/1, M27/4, M27/5, M27/8, M27/9, M27/10, M28/1, M28/4, M28/5, M28/8, M28/9 and M28/10).
Denormalization
An adjustment is denormalized:
^ When a mechanical stop is exceeded or
^ when the waiting period of at least 5 s after a seat adjustment is not maintained until the battery voltage is removed or
^ when a Hall sensor of the motors is recognized as defective
